The man sat there in his white dirt stained button up shirt. His overalls, which would look horrible on someone else was clumsily buttoned on one side and the other laid lifeless on the other; still buttoned but not on his shoulder. His hair neatly but not too neatly tussled, wild blond hair. In between two of his fingers rested his cigar. Looking back at her was his deep dark blue eyes that cut through the darkness of the room.
He sat in a big red chair at his desk. The only thing on the desk was the radio and his ashtray. Other than that was a couple of maps and paper work. The room itself had mutable screens in which he watched her from and across the room laid his bed. The walls were riddled with posters. A poster of Andrew Ryan hung on the wall with a couple darts in his forehead; A cross the way from that was a utility bunker full of different weapons. He sat only 5 feet from the lit fireplace. She could feel the warmth from it but she still felt the goose bumps on her arms.
"I see you didn't have to spare any weapons for me" She sarcastically laughed only to receive silents from him. All he did was sit there with a smug cocked grin on one side of his face and a frown on the other. One of his brows rose and cocked as the other laid limp on the other side. His hands folded and fingers laced underneath his strong chin and elbows rested on the desk. He was examining her from a far.
"Come on over lass" Atlas lends out a hand gesture to the chair across from his desk and then neatly folded them back into place as he took a better look. "Lock the door" he would trick her so he could get a good lock from behind.
She hesitated, "Oh!.. ok" She turned around to look at all the strange locks and bolds on the door. There was at least 7 on the door. "Um.." She could now see Atlas shadow over her and on the door in front of her. His arm stretched out and around her to lock the door properly. "Like this" One by one he locked the door with one hand, his chest pressed against her back. She could feel his warmth and every tone and muscle in his chest and abs. She looked over at him arm that was extended out, it was toned muscle too! Just the right amount. This feeling almost made her melt against him. There was no way in hell this man was 40 and as much as she was turned on, for some reason or another she felt fear as well.
He finished locking the door and grabbed her hand, which made her jump.
"Why you so scared lass? You don't need to be" He turned her around and proceeded to walk her over to the chair. "Sit" He smiled and charmed her. He took his seat again. She sat down.
"There is no way your 40?" She smiled looking up at him only to meet his cold blue eyes.
"Adam keeps you young, yah know" He pointed his finger to his head. "I'm 40 here and here" He pointed now to his heart. "But here" he unbuttoned his shirt and showed her his toned chest, which didn't have a hair or wrinkle at all, in fact all of his body didn't have any imperfections. "I'm a young 20" He smiled at her. All she could do was blush back.
"Well then for future sakes, let's just say you're my age" She laughed.
He stared at her. "First things first, we are going to get to a safe house and nest there"
"Remember reading that name on the elevator?" he smiled at her.
"Yeah?" She watched as he took a puff of his cigar.
"That's the biggest and safest apartment in Rapture, perfect place to stay" He rested his chin in his hand as he watched her looking back at him. His eyes softly gazing back at her as if he was trying to subdues her. "And guess who has the door code" He grinned.
"That's great!… more walking" She didn't know what to talk about. She didn't know what to say to him. She didn't know what to do but sit there helpless in that chair. It was so easy to talk to him on the shortwave radio, but in person she had no idea. On top of it she was embarrass, he was a young 20, toned, a hard 10, fuck it he was a hard 11! She couldn't even look at this golden god of a man without wetting herself. Oh don't get her started on his accent that was so clear in real life. Maybe being a virgin was a good thing!
"I hate to make you walk some more but we should get going to the apartment" He sat up and walked over to her, helping her up and snapping her out of her deep thoughts. "I got your stuff" He lifted up her bag and through it over his shoulder. He then pulled out his revolver and loaded a clip in.
"Is that necessary?" She stood up and looked up at the blond man. He was much taller than her. He was lending over her, he could most likely see down her shirt.
"Always" He rolled his accent and grinned at her. He was so cute that she felt she was going to die.
He went to the door; "Before I unlock this door" He leaned into her and pulled her close, stealing a kiss.
"Just in case we don't make it" he winked at her. This made her face blush horrible. There was way too much sexiness in this one man, her poor genitalia couldn't keep up.
"Let's go kido!" He grabbed her hand. "Stay close" He opened the door and proceeded down the stairs.
They continued to walk back the way she came. "So Atlas…" She tried to form a conversation. Something, anything to say to him. "I'm sorry Atlas I don't know what to talk about" She laughed at herself while they climbed over the trash once more.
"That's ok Kido, we have all the time to talk" He held her hand firmly then released it. They continued back the way she came till they came to the elevator again. He scrolled the numbers to the lock pad till the door made a click and opened. "After you" he smiled. She got into the small cramped elevator with him, so small she was forced to be pressed up against his chest again. The elevator ride was so quite, his cold blue eyes looking down at her made the silents worse. All she could do was keep her eyes on her feet as she felt his burn into her skull. When the elevator door dinged, she exhaled in relief. Unmerging herself from the man and out into the courtyard of the apartment.
"What's this? Sand?" She looked down at her feet and then up at Atlas. "It's one of those sand gardens" Atlas replied. Once they got into the apartment she noticed right off the bat, the big stuffed polar bear in the middle of the apartment.
"No class, like first class, a lass?" He walked to the stairs. This all seemed so much like a dream. She ignored Atlas and walked around the flat herself. She started on the right, the kitchen and dining room. The kitchen was stocked and the dining room was clean, in fact everything looked newly cleaned. She looked down to see a photo of a man. He was bald, wearing a black suit, he almost looked like Atlas. They had the same eyes after all. Under the photo the name Frank was written and next to the man stood a thin woman with long brown hair. Under her was the name Brigid.
She placed the photo down and made her way to the books. All of them were mostly ideologies and myths and odysseys. This Frank man was smart. She pulled out War and Peace from the shelf and began to read as she walked up the stairs to the study room. She looked up to see Frank had a Built in bar and pool table! He was living the life. She worked her way down the hall and to the bedroom. His master king size bed could hold 20 people. This stood in the middle of the room with the fireplace. The rest of the room was empty.
"Atlas?!" She called, I wonder where he went. She whipped around the corner to the bath room so fast she didn't have time to cover her eyes from the site of Atlas naked in a hot bath. She just stood there like a deer in headlights as her face became cherry red. The sight of the strong bold Atlas in a steamy tub with his arms extended lying over the tub rums, his shoulder cocked back and one of his brows raised would make any woman blush.
"What the hell!?..." Atlas stared back.
"You're naked!" she screamed and covered her eyes with his shirt that lay on the floor.
"Come on now lass, calm down. You can't even see my boy. The water is fogged!" He laughed trying to calm her nerves.
"Who just gets naked like that?" She blushed hard thinking about it.
"Your one to talk, you didn't even knock" he crossed his arms.
She uncovered her face. "That's not the point, I'm a girl. You can't be doing these things when I'm around! It makes unnecessary sexual argues!" She looked down at the Irishman making a cute puppy face back at her. His lip pouted and his brows narrowed in and up. I guess they were going to get along fine after all.
She began to stair him down.
"Fine" He grinned and ducked down into the water then emerged full birthday suit and childishly walked out of the room bear and towel-less. The sight of that almost gave her an aneurism. She swallowed her own words, maybe they do need to get to know enough other better.
"Atlas!" she stormed after him.
"Yah lass?" He stopped and turned his head back to smile at her. He had now had a towel on to cover his shame. She pulled him close by his ear.
"The next time you do that, I'm going to electro bolt your ass" She let go and walked passed him, down the stairs.
"Hehe, I think she means it" He smiled, rubbing his ear.
"Hay by the way kido, what's for dinner?!" He ran after her.
